Mervyn King, the world indoor singles champion, has welcomed the decision of engage Mutual Assurance to extend their Three Generation Britain (3GB) campaign to the sport.
The sponsors of the World Bowls Tour International Open have asked bowls clubs to nominate families who can field players from three generations to take part in a national triples competition.
"That would be right up my street," said King. "My dad John has been a very good player for years, and Sam, my son, who is 17, is showing promise. We would love to have a crack at the new competition."
