Stance

In bowls, there is no correct stance as such, the most important thing is that you are comfortable and well balanced at all times.

Grip

In bowls, there are two types of grip. The first is to grip the bowl with fingers spread out underneath and the thumb on top, this is known as the 'Claw Grip'. The second is to place the bowl on the palm of the hand with fingers and thumb closer together, creating a support for the bowl, this is called the 'Cradle Grip'. Either grip is fine, the most important tip is to make sure the bowl leaves the hand smoothly, without a wobble.

The Opposition

It is a good idea to get into the habit of talking to the opposition before playing a game, this is very often a good indication of what sort of a game they will play.
If possible, go and see your oponents play another game, this will halp you to get familiar with their game and lets you see what length jack they favour.
